Discover who won the IoIC National Awards 2021

Congratulations to all the internal communicators who were honoured at the Institute of Internal Communication Awards last night.

It was a pleasure to help judge the awards again this year. I was impressed by the quality of the work I reviewed and delighted to see how many Comms pros had put themselves forward.

Entering awards always takes an investment of time, money and effort, but they are an opportunity to reflect, analyse and celebrate your hard work. I enjoy judging the IoIC awards as I find the process to be fair and rigorous.

My team and I attended to cheer you on, alongside our friends Keith Riley and Dana Leeson. We joined over 330 IC pros at The Brewery in East London to celebrate your success.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, I enjoyed our conversations and meeting internal communicators in person.

The evening was hosted by Awards Chair Justine Stevenson and IoIC Chief Exec Jennifer Sproul.

Jen started off the evening’s celebrations saying: “We’ve been through an extraordinary amount, both as people and as a profession. Yet, we adapted, we rose to the challenges and now we are finally together in a room to celebrate what we achieved.  For me, and I hope for all of you it is undeniable the value and impact of the work this profession does, we should all feel immensely proud and as we look forward take these opportunities to create better organisations and a better society.”

Justine Stevenson says: “The past 18 months has shone a light on what we do and demonstrated just how vital internal communications is within organisations. We’ve had to react at speed, adapt our approach and step up to lead conversation and action more than ever before. And this has really shown in the entries this year. The results that you achieved in the most challenging of times was amazing and humbling. As our judges said it showed how everyone had to throw out the rule book and adapt so fast. If we could give awards for that, everyone would have won!”
